ABOUT

Squirm was founded in 2025 as an imprint of Slashic Horror Press.

Authentic (and scary!)

Our Mission

Squirm is committed to elevating own voices.

Authenticity underscores all we do.

We believe young adult horror should reflect the diversity of its readership. Our authors, readers, and editorial team are members of, or allies to, queer, disabled, and culturally diverse groups.

Both emerging and established authors are encouraged to submit.

Editor-in-Chief

Stephanie Sanders-Jacob

Stephanie is the author of DROPSHIPPED, PYRAMIDIA, and SINGING ALL THE WAY UP. She writes horror and weird fiction.

Horror has always been her home. She’s comfiest with a tattered ‘80s paperback on her lap, a cult film on TV, and a creepy story brewing in her head. She likes all facets of horror, but has a soft spot for the satirical and silly.

Stephanie graduated from the Ohio State University with a BA in English with a specialization in Creative Writing. She’s worked as an editor, technical writer, and librarian. She ran a successful art business for six years before turning her focus to writing.

Her author website is sandersjacob.com

On Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Squirm stands firm in its rejection of AI. Authors using AI in their submissions will not be permitted to resubmit to Squirm or parent press Slashic Horror Press. Contracts contain an anti-AI clause and violators will have their agreements terminated. Additionally, Squirm will never knowingly use AI artwork or assets. We work with real artists, designers, editors, and authors—real people with real talent.
